Built for discussion, not delivery
Pedagogy First works as professional learning material for individual teachers, departments, subject and phase teams, professional learning groups and senior leaders. The guides give you the thinking and the strategies; what turns them into professional learning is discussion, trial, reflection and honest evaluation.
You don't need a licence, a login or a course. You need the guide, a genuine teaching and learning need, and half an hour with colleagues.
A reusable model
Explore, choose, discuss, trial, notice, review
- Explore. Identify the learning problem or the area of practice you care about.
- Choose. Select a small number of relevant Pedagogy First strategies.
- Discuss. Consider why they might help, rather than simply whether they look attractive.
- Trial. Agree one approach to try.
- Notice. Look at what happens to pupil learning, participation or understanding.
- Review. Decide whether to continue, adapt or stop.
Implementation isn't linear and trying something is never a guarantee of improvement. The point of notice and review is to find out what actually happened, and to be willing to stop.

Everything on this page can be used independently, and schools do.
